Hajj 2024 - What can I do for my Ummah?
First of all congratulations to the Muslim Ummah for fulfilling this majestic huge gathering of Arafa and Hajj 2024 with all the peace and serenity. Alhamdulillah. It shows our capabilities as an Ummah and also how great is the potential of unity and faith combination, it can do wonders.
We have a fond love of the House of ALLAH. The House is the first Masjid on the face of this world and is the place of huge barakat from ALLAH subhanahu wa ta’ala. We can see the harmony of Ummah at that place. The whole Ummah stands with their face towards a single direction Kaaba al Mushrafa and they pray according to their individual ways to ALLAH behind a single human being reciting the majestic words of the Book of ALLAH.
Whatever the prayer differences, at the core everyone is standing in Qiyam and humbling themselves in Rukoo and Sujood. Differences in individuals do not make any difference in direction. Everyone's focus is on ‘One’ ALLAH.
When we see this sight this is a huge sign of ALLAH's being One and Only Rab and we all surrender only to Him. We are all under His supreme command.
Then outside this Home how can we differentiate between His slaves? How can we say that he belongs to this Masjid and I belong to that Masjid? I am this and he is that. This is pointless when we say ALLAH is One and we all belong to Him only.
Differentiation in Islam has no space except the flexibility that ALLAH and our Beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ have given. Giving respect to differences and being flexible for minute variations is the real beauty of Islam and our Prophet’s life is a real-life model for all of us in this regard. Seerah of Muhammad ﷺ tells us how he brought together different natures, temperaments, nationalities, cultures, and textures of people, made from them a perfectly bonded Ummah, and joined their hearts mutually in the beautiful rope of eemaan. May ALLAH have mercy on him ﷺ and on his Ummah.
Sitting in a public setting and highlighting the differences between Muslims on any basis is not appropriate. It is the wrong thing to do. ‘Omitting differentiation within Islam’ If this single change we can adopt today on the occasion of Hajj 2024, we would say the aim is accomplished for us.
This is the single good thing I can do for my Ummah in the love of ALLAH and His Prophet Muhammad صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم
