Victim Mentality Feeds from Shaitan
Recognise it is the series of articles pointing out to recognise the tricks of shaitan for deceiving us.
Today's topic is about healing and repair ourselves with our own efforts and don't let shaitan slow you down in your life's motivations saying that ohhh you, you suffered this much, sit back and act a victim.
Being a victim of life's misery and mishaps is hurtful. It does break us and this breaks does need time and effort to get to normal. ALLAH has made the life's journey uneven. Who has made the life, He has made us also and our brains to stand, accept, believe and relieve ourselves with His help.
Mentality is the general and usual reaction of a person to the life and it's happening. It includes behaviour and decisions. As we see, this has a great impact on ourselves and others around.
Victim mentality broadly is keeping "thoughts of mishap" which affected us once, repeatedly or continuously. ALLAH has given blessing to our brain to heal over time and come out of trauma. That relief is from ALLAH. Undue and unreal prolongation of grief, the habit of living trauma again and again like, remain in pain for gaining sympathies and expecting favours for that grief, are all part of paralysing victim mentality and it is definitely, a feed from shaitan.
After recognition the next step is to deal with it. How to do? Accept that this is “not a right way” is the first thing to do. Avoid this on all cost with your great powers of brain bestowed by ALLAH is second step. Only we can heal ourselves with ALLAH's help, don't expect others to do. Healing is between you and your Rab, others are all just supporting characters and should not be of prime value.
Thoughts representing this mentality are like:
That happened because of you (easy option of blaming others for difficulties)
Because of him/her I suffered and suffering (Others are responsible for it and I am not)
I was so so very hurt that it still hurts me, as same every time I think.
I am so much in pain that I cannot do anything (motivation paralysis)
As I am so much hurt so i need others to do help and favour me, it’s my right (my suffering - pain for all anytime)
I don't (want to) forget that pain for a single moment.
Superficially looking these thoughts looks like small thing but prolonged practices of these may actually paralyse the mental health. We need to move ahead, ALLAH has made difficulties WITH ease. Searching relief and ease for ourselves is NOT WRONG but exactly the right idea. Even if we suffered in past, even there is pain till now, it's our full right to live a pain free future. Indeed it is our right!!
The blame business out of this victim mentality (I am suffering because of ......., he/she is responsible for my mishap) gets no place when we know, ALLAH said, no suffering can reach you until permitted by Him. And then, He is the one who guides the hearts of believers.
Humans cannot harm humans by whatever intentions they have. Until it is allowed by ALLAH in that way. One's action can become others test, but our ongoing pain is because of our own thoughts and ways to deal, more than anyone else.
Lastly life is about moving on. Aim for something which can engage your thoughts positively. Shift the focus to " how I move ahead from here" instead of " i am still suffering so much".
Accept the challenges of life and the uneven road by courage ALLAH has given you, Say Welcome to ALLAH's blessings of ease instead of shaitan's victimizing feeds.
